My Process

Please send me the manuscript, either via email or upload on ACX.  PDF or Word Document is fine.  Also please send me any specific notes that I should be aware of before I start e.g. how to pronounce characters' names, any accents you'd like etc.

1. After receiving the manuscript I read the entire book once through to gain familiarity with the story arcs, characters, etc.

2. I will prep the manuscript (highlighting dialogue, researching pronunciations and accents, specific passages that require special attention, etc.) I will then come back to you regarding any questions I have about the characters and any pronunciations I need clarification on.

3. I prepare and Submit the “First 15 Minutes” 

This is the opportunity for you to review and verify the choices I intend to make for my narration.  You should verify that you agree with the voices I choose, pacing, pronunciations, performance, etc. and you should provide me with any and all feedback prior to approving this submission.

Although this is called 'First 15 minutes' it might not be the first 15 minutes of the book.  I will try to pick a section (or two) to show the main characters.

Once you approve the 15 Minute submission, I’ll be free to move forward into the narration of the entire book without any further input or direction from you, so if there is any specific direction or other critical performance-related items that need to be addressed, this is the time to do it!

4. Narration of the audiobook.

5. Editing/Mastering/Proofing of my narration. I outsource this part for PFH and Royalty Share Plus books.  For Royalty Share I do this myself.

6. Uploading the final audio files!

Once they have been edited and mastered, I will upload the final audio files—the completed audiobook—to ACX for your final review and approval!  Once you do so ACX technical staff will perform their final QC checks on the audio files and then prepare them for release and distribution!
